Great place with amazing beaches. From a tourist perspective though there is very little in the way of eating out places, no shopping only a very limited supermarket. Do your research before you leave as the places that are open are not open long and they do run out of things quickly. Christmas almost everything is closed including the visitor centre for days! The most important thing is to take your own food like steak or meat, fruit, vegetables etc. Remember to have your receipts with you for anything you bring. Definitely hire a car! Beer and wine is normal price but spirits are cheap to buy a bottle.
No mainland mobile reception at all, you can buy WiFi tokens from the visitor centre but the hot spots are limited.

Great lay back Island, even the club doesn't open for lunch (unless a plane is due to depart).

Great for fishing, golf, snorkling, scuba diving and probably wind surfing.

Beautiful place but limited regarding availability of fresh food-very expensive. Need a vehicle to get to the best beaches and ferry to Direction Island only goes on Thursday and Saturday. No fresh fish available to buy, not many fishing options for tourists. Ie boat charters. Restaurants and cafes have limited opening times. Planes likely to cancel.
