Outstanding authentic Italian Restaurant tucked away in Narrabundah. Please don't tell anyone about it. A varied menu with great specials to suit all appetites. BYO and licenced. Parking, during the day, can be a challenge, but this hidden destination restaurant is well worth checking out. Did I mention the squid ink pasta? It is our chosen monthly destination. So good.

Superb food & cocktails + friendly service. A favourite and our various friends have loved it too.

My husband and daughter enjoyed their meals (duck special and gnocchi) but my meal was late and not what I expected. The pasta needed to be cooked longer, it was tough to chew, and my other daughter found the same with her meal. Disappointed.

Got a takeaway pizza and some garlic bread. The pizza (Viviana) was delicious - excellent base, delightful toppings, perfectly done. A top-notch pizza. As for the garlic bread I liked it but my companion was underwhelmed, still, 5 stars.

They certainly serve some amazing authentic Italian food at this joint. One of the best Italian restaurants in Canberra and I would certainly recommend it. Yours truly @fooderarri

Just outrageously delicious food, literally some of the best food I’ve eaten in my life. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Pricey, but an amazing night out.

Really nice ambiance, service was attentive and food was delicious. We all had different pasta dishes and everyone was delightfully satisfied. The panna cotta and cannoli desserts were amazing! Will definitely return.

The food was very nice <3, we had the squid ink fettucine, barramundi and slow cook lamb and it was all delicious.
To add on that, the service was perfect, everyone was extra nice, making sure we were happy and accommodating on dietary requirements.
The only little comment would be on wine choices, I would have liked a better wine menu to accompany this delicious food!

We walked around for a while in canberra looking for a place to eat. Was recommended la cantina by a friend in melbourne and decided to go. One look at the menu and we knew it was going to be great. Wonderful authentic menu with authentic traditional ingredients. Most of the food we eat in italian resturants these days has been heavily alterd and far from from the simplicity of Italian good food.we enjoyed everything and we could have fitted more in I would have.its a shame we don't have a place like this in melbourne I would get to it as often as I could. Great service and relaxed atmosphere. COMPLIMENTI! Give this place a go you will not be dissappointed

Italian done well. Every dish was superb (fresh and beautifully articulated). Busy place and clearly a favourite of the local set. Glad we came here and would happily welcome them to the Sydney Italian food scene.

The atmosphere at La Cantina is special! There is a warmth and sense of occasion that sets a high standard. The food was de-lic-ous, especially the anchovies we ordered for entre. I particularly enjoyed the excellent, friendly service. I cannot wait to return to try something else and experience this wonderful family-owned restaurant again.

The only word to describe la cantina is perfect and recommended once a month at least, prices $$$, the music is just good, all details are good

We dined here for dinner a few weeks ago. Place is nice and cosy. We were a group of four and decided to share our dishes which included a few entrees, few pizzas and some pasta dishes. All dishes were amazing, full of flavour and so fresh. We didn't get to try the dessert, as we were too full, maybe next time! Good value for money!

The food was not good this time round. It was very expensive for food to taste less then what I can make myself at home. I had the sirloin and though it was cooked to perfection my hubby and friends meals weren't good. The lamb shank was poorly cooked and we think the meat itself was poor quality. The seafood pasta tasted and smelled! Like it was canned. On a good note the atmosphere is superb! The waiters are so nice and attentive.
